Abstract

|
The outcomes of child physical abuse hurt physical and emotional health of children and they become parents who abuse their child because maltreating parents can often relate to child about physically abused children to the play therapists who work with physically abused children.
The method of this study was investigate the research knowledge about physically abused children, especially Korean children. The contents of this study were the concept of child maltreatment, definition of physical abuse, causes of physical abuse, the integrated model of physical abuse, and what is the therapeutic goals and therapeutic activities during the play therapy with physically abused children. The cause of physical abuse were four different approaches, that is psychopathology of parents or care givers, developmental characteristics of children, social and cultural figure of family with child physical abuse, and ecological approach with the dynamic model of child abuse. The integrated model of physical abuse was focused on the vulnerable and protective factors of parent and child.
